WHO WE ARE
OCRIMS is one of the more active chapters of the Risk & Insurance Management Society (RIMS), a global nonprofit organization representing more than 3,500 industrial, service, nonprofit, charitable and government entities throughout the world. Founded in 1950, RIMS brings networking, professional development and education opportunities to its membership of more than 11,000 risk management professionals who are located in more than 60 countries. The Orange County Chapter of RIMS (OCRIMS) formed in 1976 and has evolved into a thriving professional society benefitting its members and the local community at large. OCIRMS has won numerous awards for excellence as recognized by RIMS, and our members have won individual awards such as the prestigious “Heart of RIMS Award.” Beyond that, OCRIMS has established an ongoing scholarship-award program with the School of Risk Management & Insurance at Cal State University, Fullerton. Community Outreach is also a big endeavor for OCRIMS, and our Chapter annually collects donations for local food banks and other organizations who assist those in need, and our members participate in charitable events such as the Casino Night to benefit the Fullerton Cares autism-awareness nonprofit. The Chapter’s mission is Advancing Education, Communication and Professionalism in the Risk Management Community.
